"Golos" Launches the "Map of Violations" for the 2024 Presidential Election
Three months before the day of voting in the presidential election, the Golos movement is launching the Map of Violations, a service where anyone can submit information about election-related violations.
Voting in the Russian presidential election will take place from March 15 to 17, 2024. This is a crucial election; the head of state is elected for a term of 6 years. There are two ways to run in the elections: self-nomination or as a candidate from a registered party. Five political parties represented in the State Duma will be able to register their candidate without collecting signatures. Candidates from other parties will have to collect signatures - not less than 100 thousand, with no more than 2.5 thousand in one region. A total of 25 parties can participate in the presidential election.
During the election period, violations may involve the collection of signatures, illegal campaigning, refusal to register candidates, pressure on them, or the creation of preferences by administrations for certain nominees.
For example, signature collection is a highly complex and expensive process. Every day is critical here, and any hiccup may deprive a candidate of the opportunity to participate in the elections. Therefore, it is important to promptly report if a candidate is hindered or prevented from collecting voter signatures. The "Map of Violations" is reviewed by the media and monitored by election commissions.
We will forward your information to the media and election commissions, and if necessary - to the police, so that the criminals are held accountable. Publicity itself helps prevent future violations. There can be many examples - report such cases. Just don't forget to attach photo and video evidence and copies of documents so that your claims are well-founded and legitimate.
We do not guarantee that publishing a message on the "Map of Violations" will solve the problem, but there is a chance. Remember - falsifiers fear publicity the most!
